2027 Covered California Income Requirements

2027 Covered California Income Requirements

Updated October 1, 2026 for 2027 coverage

Covered California’s official income eligibility chart dated October 2026 is available for 2027 coverage. California state subsidy eligibility is shown from 100% through 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). The annual 200% benchmarks are $31,920 for one person and $66,000 for a household of four. Final eligibility depends on your complete application.

Planning starts with your expected annual income, tax household, ZIP code, ages and access to other qualifying coverage.

Understanding the income levels

Most adults with income up to 138% FPL are screened for Medi-Cal. Eligible consumers from 100% through 250% FPL may qualify for lower out-of-pocket costs when they enroll in a Silver plan.

Silver 94: 100%–150% FPL.

Silver 87: above 150%–200% FPL.

Silver 73: above 200%–250% FPL.

Premium tax credits depend on income, household size, ages, location, the benchmark premium and access to other qualifying coverage.

Estimate your income for the coverage year

Use your expected Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI) for 2027. Include income for household members required by the application, including your spouse and dependents. Income may include wages, salary, tips, self-employment profit, retirement and Social Security benefits, investment income, rental income and other income counted under MAGI rules. If your income varies, use a reasonable estimate and report changes during the year.

Premium savings and Enhanced Silver

A premium tax credit lowers your monthly premium. Cost-sharing reductions lower deductibles, copays, coinsurance and your out-of-pocket maximum. To receive Enhanced Silver benefits, you must qualify and enroll in an eligible Silver plan.

Choose a plan in three steps

1. Estimate your expected annual household income.

2. Compare your premium after available financial help.

3. Check doctors, prescriptions, deductibles and other plan costs.
